Become a Community Champion
To improve the quality of life for every senior in our community and to foster a more giving and charitable society
Ensuring no senior goes without nutritious meals, safety checks, and connection — even during the harshest winter storms.
When the Storm Hit, Our Community Stepped Up
This winter brought one of the most significant storms our region has experienced in years. Heavy snowfall and dangerous road conditions created serious challenges for older adults living alone across Truckee and North Lake Tahoe
Because of careful planning, Sierra Senior Services was ready.
Meals were delivered early. Frozen meals ensured continuity. Shelf-stable emergency meals were distributed so seniors could safely shelter in place .
Every delivery meant warmth. Safety. Reassurance.

Why March Matters
March is National Nutrition Month and marks the anniversary of the Older Americans Act — the foundation of senior nutrition programs nationwide.
This March, we are setting a goal to raise:
💛 $10,000
to sustain and expand local meal delivery, wellness checks, and emergency preparedness efforts.
