Volunteer With Sierra Senior Services
Volunteers help in many areas and often choose to volunteer for one of the opportunities below. If you have special interests, skills or other ideas for volunteering, please feel free to contact us. You have your own unique skill set, and we value your knowledge and expertise. Training is provided for all volunteer positions.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Meals on Wheels Driver
Drivers use our Meals on Wheels vehicles to deliver meals to homebound seniors who have limited or no means for meal preparation. You must have a valid California or Nevada Driver’s License, pass our provided background check and be at least 18 years of age. Drivers are needed Monday through Friday, starting at 10:30am. Routes take approximately 3 hours from picking up the food to dropping off coolers and hotboxes at the end of your route.
Drivers can participate as much as they like – Two days a week? One day a week? Once a month? Even as a backup when regular drivers can’t make it.
Help us in the kitchen!!
Join Our Kitchen Volunteer Team! We’re looking for dedicated kitchen volunteers to support our Meals on Wheels program!
✔️ Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handler’s Card
✔️ Opportunities available for regular kitchen shifts
✔️ Volunteers who are comfortable with kitchen operations may be asked to help fill in when staff is on leave
